Uh-Oh Ji Ho

On to my latest K-Drama/Comedy: Couple or Trouble (aka Fantasy Couple)

Oh Ji Ho's gigantic dimples, perfect white teeth, and statuesque form are certainly trouble (and every girl's fantasy)! ;)

So far, so funny!

not your typical K-drama

My Name Is Kim Sam Soon

woah, this one took me off guard!

Sure, the premise was different to begin with, but I did not expect it to diverge so vastly from the comedic drama mold! It didn't even have an overtly happy ending. At least it stuck to the formula of having a slightly weak/unsatisfying conclusion!

A far cry from the holding-hands-makes-me-blush, never-been-kissed innocence of most of this genre, Samsoon contains premarital sex, one night stands, and condom jokes. It also has characters who speak English in a believable manner. What!?? All in all, I enjoyed the wit of the snappy Kim Samsoon, but missed the naivety and prudish characteristics of the typical K-drama. I like the purity of their "above reproach" approach. However, the actors did a great job. Kim Sun Ah is a great actress. Hyun Bin and Jung Ryu Won were also believable, and Daniel Henney is just beyond hot:)

Coffee never tasted so good

Coffee Prince.
I dig the atypical plot line, though the hot-jerk-male-lead role is still firmly in place in the person of Han Kyul:)
The twists revolving around Eun Chan's gender ambiguity, the mistakes made concerning her identity, and the unpredictability or control-ability of falling in love. I'm making up new words I'm enjoying this so much:) Laughing my head off and swooning over some more Korean actors. Gong Yoo is pretty darn hot. with his tall self..... wish I could work at his coffee shop too...

Then sexy nerd glasses make a becoming reappearance on Lee Syun Gun, playing the sweet and musically talented (WIN) Han Sung

It's pretty rare that I write up anything about the female characters in these dramas, but Eun Chan (Yoon Eun Hye) is hilarious and endearing in her quest to act masculine and fool her sexy boss for a buck. Delightfully charming.
