step into my heart

Introducing my latest K-Drama obsession, New Heart. Intense and funny. But mostly I adore the character Lee Eun Sung, played by Korean actor Ji Sung. From the province, Eun Sung aspires to save lives like the heroic, rogue thoracic surgeon Choi Kang Gook. Though his training was not at the esteemed Kwangee University Hospital, he learns quickly and like his mentor, refuses to follow hospital regulations/traditions at the cost of the patients. He has a cheerful outlook, integrity, and determination, with ever the "patient in his eyes". He may not be the smartest intern, but he definitely cares the most. The intelligent and brazen first year intern Nam Hae Suk has much to learn from him, as there is surely more to being a good Dr than book-smarts. I think it will be she who gains a "New Heart" in the end as she goes from cold to warm, with a "heart full of tears for the patient." Ultra cheese, fabulously entertaining, and an adorable dude who is ever playing with kids, making soup for ailing Grandma's, and bending over backward to help others in his spare time as first year thoracic intern at Kwangee University.
